Arise Summer Series: Zizek! An Astra Taylor Film

Astra Taylor's documentary about pop-culture Marxist Lacanian philosopher Slavoj Zizek.  From Hugo Chavez to mustaches to the death drive, Zizek has something for everyone...

At 8:30pm we'll start by playing theory bingo (for real prizes!).  Film as soon as it gets dark, which will probably be around 9pm.

Astra Taylor is a radical film maker, the associate producer on Persons of Interest, a documentary about Arab and Muslim immigrants secretly detained by the US government.  Her most recent film is The Examined Life, a series of interviews with radical philosphers from Cornel West to Judith Butler.
