In a world where beauty and wildness are constantly encroached upon, a free human being is hard to find. Jesse James Forrey is one of those humans, but since his arrest during the RNC in St. Paul he has been chained to the state of Minnesota. He was recently convicted of a felony in a trial full of inconsistent, irrelevant and prejudicial evidence, and awaits sentencing on September 17th. He likely faces a year in jail. His conviction and potential imprisonment effects many communities, and is but one expression of a judicial system inebriated with its own power. We must fight this power in all its forms, by supporting each other and developing genuine communities of resistance. Come dine with us, find each other under the stars, and enjoy the last gasps of summer while supporting a beloved member of our community.
At 1:30 p.m on Thursday, September 17th, Jesse will be sentenced by Judge Paulette Flynn at the Ramsey County Courthouse (15 W. Kellogg Blvd, St. Paul). Come in your finest attire and show the court that Jesse’s community wants him free. Before the sentencing, you can write letters to the judge asking for a lesser sentence. You can find more information and make a donation at Jesse’s support website. You can also sign his petition at: http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/supportjessejames
