End the Fed Rally

March at 11:30 AM (starting at Loring Park and moving through downtown Mpls to Federal Reserve)
Rally at 12:30 PM (outside Fed. Reserve)
 

For those participating in the march, we will meet at 11:30 a.m. at Loring Park and march to the Federal Reserve building. The route will be about 1-1.5 miles in length moving through the downtown area to the Federal Reserve.

Smooth Transition

The current transition of power involves many dynamics. Among those are unresolved issues stemming from the Bush administration’s tenure itself. That of course is always the case in presidential transitions, but this is no ordinary tenure and as such no ordinary transition.

Wobblies Leaflet Minneapolis Bank of America in Solidarity with UE Occupation of Republic Window and Door

Today, members of the Twin Cities branch of the IWW handed out leaflets to workers and passersby in front of the US Trust Building in Minneapolis. US Trust was recently bought our by Bank of America and now functions as their "Private Wealth Management Division." They got positive reactions from every single person who took a leaflet. A few of the people they talked to were being laid off themselves. Workers in this country are hungry for change, and increasingly ready for a fight.

St. Paul, MN - While state officials announced a record $5.2 billion dollar budget deficit at the State Capitol here, Dec. 4 , about 25 members of the Minnesota Coalition for a People’s Bailout were outside the room chanting, “Hey politicians, here’s the fix! Tax the rich! Tax the rich!”

US Bank is receiving $6.6 billion of the massive $700 billion bailout passed by Congress, even though the bank was not having financial difficulties. Meanwhile, people are losing their homes all over the city.

Tell US Bank to use this windfall to help the community, not to enrich their shareholders or pay higher executive bonuses. Remember, this money is OUR tax money and we have evry tight to make demands about how it is used.
