STAAC RNC Trial on Tues. Jan 20

(Please forward)

Hey everyone!

So... 7 of us (STAAC 7, or Wall 7) are going to trial together , starting on Tuesday
Jan. 20th, in St. Paul (at the Ramsey County Courthouse) for charges related to the
RNC. We REALLY need court support. Since the 7 of us are being tried together, (and
I'd say because they know that some of us are anarchists) they're not going to drop
the charges, so this is going to be one of the first misdemeanor trials to come out
of the RNC. Most of the other cases that have come up so far have just been dropped

Initial Reactions to the Heffelfinger-Luger RNC Commission Report

I was tempted to preface the title of this article with "Some Very Initial Reactions..." simply because of the sheer size of of the report and its attachments. The Executive Summary is 15 pages long and the Main Report text reaches 82 pages, not including a 6-page index and "Exhibits" which include 21 multipage PDF files, 58 video files ranging in length from 5 seconds to over an hour, and 8 galleries of extremely slow-loading, poorly labeled, high resolution images. Although I was already familiar with around one-quarter of the supplementary documents listed, I'll still need another week to get through it all.

Trade Union, Progressive Groups Sell Out On Healthcare

On January 8, 2009 there was a Press Conference in the Minnesota Capitol in St Paul, organized by a coalition of "Trade Union" and so called "progressive" groups. The organization included TakeAction Minnesota, AFSCME Council 5, Children's Defense Fund Minnesota, Education Minnesota, ISAIAH, Minnesota Nurses Association, SEIU Minnesota State Council, The AFL-CIO.

Report Back On Takeover of Senator Klobuchar's Office

December 30th, 2008.

When the Israeli forces started their bombing campaign, killing hundreds in Gaza, local activists responded.

While the ANSWER coalition in other parts of the country targeted Israeli Consulates and other related places, Minnesota activists took a different strategy. Rather than target the Israeli's themselves, we decided to target US politicians and political leaders who have been aiding and abetting in the slaughter in Gaza.

Dave Mahoney Has a Posse!

RNC arrestee Dave Mahoney is currently being charged with 3 counts of terroristic threats and 3 counts of assault. These 6 felony counts translate into the possibility of 21 years in prison. It's become blatantly clear the state prosecution has made Dave a priority in their sick fucking game they play with people's lives on a daily basis. Some Twin Cities folks have decided its about time we make Dave one of our top priorities as well!
